About ICF

The International Christian Fellowship is a ministry of Hämeenlinna Vapaaseurakunta that began in 2014. We are a group of people from different nations and cultures who are seeking to know and serve God better—the Father, his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We want to experience God’s presence, show his character in our lives, and bring honor to Him. We look to the Bible— God’s ancient but ever-new Word— to teach us who He is and how to live and serve Him here and now.

We believe that first in the history of Israel, then most decisively in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and now through the work of the church in every place, God is healing and renewing our world. He is building his multicultural kingdom of love, truth, justice, mercy, beauty, joy, hope and peace, and we want to be partners with him in this. We don’t claim we have all of the answers; we don’t all think exactly alike; we haven’t arrived! All of us are on a spiritual journey towards this God, and each of us is in a different place on the path. We welcome all who want to join us in the journey!

Family Ministries

At ICF we want to bless and support families through the different circumstances that life throws up. We want to do this primarily through the regular gathering of the church community. In addition, we want to offer support to marriages and families through relevant ministries.

Together with the Finnish congregation, we run a Pre-teens (varkki-ilta) evening every 2nd Friday evening. This evening is for those in 3rd-6th grade (9-12 year olds) and includes fun, games, snacks, and the gospel!

Support our ministry!

We hope that you can join us soon!

ICF Gatherings

Summer Schedule - 2025

Sunday Worship Services

We gather on a weekly basis at 11:30am on Sundays (program starts at 11:45am) to worship God together at the Hämeenlinna Vapaaseurakunta, Sibeliuksenkatu 17. We do this through singing worship songs, studying teaching from the bible, hearing testimonies from each other’s lives, as well as sharing with one another over a cup of tea or coffee. On the 2nd Sunday of each month we take the Lord’s Supper (Communion) together and on the last Sunday of each month we share a cooked meal together after the service.

We have an area with toys for families with small children as well as two Sunday school classes for children. One group is for children from 4 years old up to 2nd grade (8/9 years) and one group is for children in 3rd to 6th grades (ages 9-12). (Puhumme myös suomea!) Children begin in the service with their parents and go to their classes as a group just before the sermon begins.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, looking for friendships, or just curious to find out more, you are warmly welcome!

Other Gatherings

We gather at other times in smaller groups socially for friendship, picnics, BBQs, to play sport, or to pray for and encourage one another. There is also a men’s group and a ladies’ group. The men have a prayer group that gathers every 2nd week on Wednesday evenings and both the men’s and the ladies’ groups meet every couple of months for social events.

Please contact Pastor David (see contact details below) to check if a gathering is currently taking place.

ICF Sermons

In ICF we like to spend time exploring what the Bible teaches us. We usually have a study series focusing on a certain bible book or bible topic. You can watch the latest teaching from the current series below or click on more sermons to watch earlier teachings and series.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
